ABOUT NCFC
Families thrive when support feels personal.
We are a Greenville-based collaborative helping parents and caregivers build skills, confidence, stability, and lasting community connections.

OUR STORY
Neighborhood Child and Family Collaborative's journey began in 2012 as the Nicholtown Early Learning Taskforce, when Representative Chandra Dillard led an effort to bring Head Start back to the Nicholtown community. As community conversations continued, more than 250 parents of young children participated in a 2014 community assessment to identify the resources and services families wanted within their neighborhood. Their voices became the foundation for a strategic vision focused on strengthening children, empowering parents, and building a healthier community.

This vision led to the creation of the Nicholtown Child and Family Collaborative (NCFC), a place-based, two-generation organization committed to improving child outcomes through parent education, family support, community partnerships, and access to wraparound services. What began as a neighborhood initiative quickly evolved into a trusted resource for families.

As Greenville County experienced growth and changing demographics, many of the families we served relocated beyond the Nicholtown community. In response, NCFC expanded its reach in 2023, relocating to a larger facility and extending services to families throughout Greenville County.
As our services reached beyond one neighborhood, our name evolved as well. Today, we proudly serve as the Neighborhood Child and Family Collaborative, reflecting our commitment to supporting families in neighborhoods across Greenville County. While our name has changed, our mission remains the same—to strengthen families, empower parents, and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Today, Neighborhood Child and Family Collaborative serves as a countywide network of support, partnering with schools, nonprofits, healthcare providers, faith-based organizations, businesses, and community leaders to connect families with the resources, education, and opportunities they need to build brighter futures.

From a neighborhood task force to a countywide support network, our purpose has always remained constant: strengthening families, enriching communities, and creating lasting change—one family at a time.
